A Windows desk that stays open through the Uzbek evening
MetaTrader 4 and 5 install on Windows as ordinary desktop applications. What the desktop build adds over a browser tab is local memory: several charts arranged the way you left them, saved templates, and custom timeframe sets that survive a restart. On a machine that is powered most of the day, that removes the small setup ritual at the start of every session.
Where the computer is shared at home, separate Windows user accounts are the clean way to keep a trading terminal out of everyone else's session, and signing out of the terminal matters as much as locking the screen. If a shared machine cannot be arranged that way, the browser platform is the version to use on it and the desktop install is better skipped.
